Bark Collars

You really CAN train your dog from excessive barking!

Dogs bark for many reasons including boredom, excitement, aggression, play, fear or warning.  But sometimes all that barking is a nuisance to you and your neighbors.  Dog bark collars will train your dog not to bark constantly by providing an unpleasant consequence every time the collar senses the barking vibrations in your dog’s neck.  The scolding can be a mild electric shock, an unpleasant sound wave or a citronella spray all of which can be unpleasant to your dog, however not at all dangerous to him or anybody else.

Search “bark collars” online and you’ll find more information on the following models:
Electric collars:  These collars pick of the vibrations in his throat when he’s about to bark. They deliver a mild electric shock to deter him from barking. The shock is not meant to cause pain and may feel similar to static electricity from a carpet which is only mildly uncomfortable enough to associate barking with this unpleasant feeling.

Dog silencer:  In response to your dog’s barking, this type of training emits a hi-pitched unpleasant sound-wave that’s inaudible to humans. It’s not a collar, but instead mounts on a window ledge our other outdoor surface.

Citronella collar:
This collar also has a bark vibration sensor but instead it releases a blast of citronella spray at the dog’s snout when he barks. Dogs find this sudden liquid unpleasant. Plus, on the upside, he will be protected from mosquitoes that also stay away from citronella. It is a common herb that is 100% safe for humans and pets.

Once your dog is successfully trained, which can be as little as a few days to several weeks, you can remove the device and you may never need it again.  If your dog slips back into his old barking habits, these training devices can be used as a refresher any time as they are not dangerous.
