How Do I Change My Gmail® Password

March 10, 2014  |  Difficulty: Easy

change your Gmail® password.

Gmail® is one of the most popular email services around the world. Provided by Google®, Gmail® is connected with almost all of the services offered by the Internet-related services and products corporation. People using Google® Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics™, Google Play™ and others are assigned their own Gmail® account, which is protected with a password.

Like with all online password-secured services, it is important to routinely change your password to avert malicious users or hackers from discovering it. To change your Gmail® password, you need to know your current password before replacing it. The process is actually quite simple and intuitive. Read the instructions below to learn how.

Changing a Gmail® password:

  1. Launch your Internet browser and log in to your Gmail® account.
  2. On the right side of the interface, click on the “cogwheel” and select “Settings”.
  3. Switch to the “Accounts” tab.
  4. Click on the “Change password” link in the “Change account settings” section.
  5. Type in your “Current password” and your “New password” twice.
  6. Click on the “Change Password” button.
  7. Your Gmail® password will now have been changed.
