how to download graphics card drivers for major graphics chip manufacturers

For avid gamers, graphics cards are one of the most important computer components. Major graphics chip manufacturers include ATI®, NVIDIA® and Intel®. These manufacturers generally create a new series of graphics cards each year, to capitalize on the latest technology. Modern computer games and graphic applications are becoming more and more dependent on the performance of the graphics card as opposed to the CPU. In order to set up new hardware, such as a graphics card, it is usually necessary to install software to run it. Hardware may come bundled with a CD or DVD containing the drivers, but these may be several months old. New drivers often offer better performance or lower power consumption, so it is useful to install the latest driver versions at least four times a year. The instructions below describe how to download drivers directly from a graphics chip manufacturer’s websites to ensure that your graphics card will run smoothly.
