How Do I Have My PC Regularly Checked for Spyware

The Internet and networking have become powerful instruments in our daily lives. But we face continuous attacks from dangerous software usually known as spyware, malware or adware. These types of programs can cause many problems ranging from irritating advertisements to serious issues like identity theft by unintentionally sending your private data, keys, certificates, passwords, and even your bank account details to an attacker.

An infected computer is often used by the attacker for sending SPAM or spreading bad software to more unsuspecting people, thus the PC becomes the attacker’s tool. Lucky users are able to discover their computer’s behavior change quickly, but often it is discovered too late. In the most common cases, people do not know that their PC is infected. For these reasons, antispyware was created to save your PC from Internet threats whenever you are connected. A desirable function for this type of security application is an automatic scan. With this, users can be 100% sure of having their PCs updated using the latest database of known threats. • Try to plan your automatic scan for a time when your computer will be ON and you won’t be doing any in-depth or complex work on it because the scan can slow your PC slightly.

Warnings:

  • If you check the “If I miss my scheduled time, start immediately” checkbox, be aware that the automatic scan will start right after your computer startup.
